The Hornblower Family Businesses, American Queen Steamboat Company (AQSC) and Victory Cruise Lines (VCL), are pleased to announce the recent launch of the combined Steamboat and Victory Academy (SAVA). You can find the enhanced travel agent certification training program by visiting MyCruiseAcademy.com or by logging into the travel agent portal of AQSC or VCL. The academy integrates both AQSC and VCL content and provides prospective SAVA trained agents with on-demand training modules and integrated quizzes. "The success of both the American Queen Steamboat Company and Victory Cruise Lines is crucial to our travel partners," says John Waggoner, CEO and founder of the American Queen Steamboat Company. After the many challenges of 2020, we decided to create a program that empowers our partners to navigate all facets of our cruise offerings efficiently and confidently. This new Academy enables us to further engage and inform agents on our latest policy changes and deals, including improved health and safety, flexible booking policies and our new ships, the American CountessTM for AQSC and Ocean VictoryTM for VCL. In May 2020, the hybrid Steamboat and Victory Academy was introduced domestically, and the firm launched a foreign edition for agents outside the U.S. and Canada this September. The curriculum consists of 12 training modules on-demand and is augmented with integrated quizzes. The modules cover topics to ensure that travel agents are able to answer any questions about cruises and booking processes for AQSC/VCL. The modules comprise: Introductions to AQSC and VCL both Logistics for Reservation Shore journeys, both inclusive and luxury tours Reservations for Party Portal of Travel Agent and Help On each vessel, details Upon completion, agents can get a certificate, as well as a licensed agent logo for use in email signatures and websites. Other advantages for participating agents include access to discounted rates for travel agents, unique invites to officially hosted FAM educational trips and access during the calendar year to live webinars. Agents who previously completed the Steamboat Academy are grandfathered into SAVA prior to the opening of the new merged academy on May 1, 2020 and also qualify for the exclusive benefits of becoming a travel agent for AQSC and VCL. "We appreciate the partnerships we have with our travel agents and want to offer them something that they can really benefit from," says Barbara Davis, Product Training Director. We have built this software to help agents create a strong base of expertise, while optimizing time and productivity on all aspects of cruises. MyCruiseAcademy.com provides fantastic benefits upon completion, such as real-time outcomes and certification. Astounding is the constructive input from agents and it resonates with our record-breaking involvement in the academy. Looking ahead to 2021, Victory Cruise Lines and the American Queen Steamboat Company are excited to resume operations and welcome cruisers on board. Joining the authentic paddlewheelers of AQSC is the American Countess, which includes immersive itineraries down the Mississippi, Ohio, Cumberland, Tennessee and Illinois Rivers. The newest ship from Victory Cruise Lines, Ocean Victory, will debut in May 2021 and carry guests to Alaska on responsible and creative adventure cruises. When both cruise lines begin operations in 2021, AQSC and VCL have also developed improved health and safety protocols that are ready for implementation. In the face of COVID-19, the new policies were structured to protect passengers, crew members and the communities that the vessels visit. AQSC and VCL are prepared to continue to change operations and policies to ensure the well-being of those concerned in the ever-changing situation surrounding COVID-19. -Source: Press release from the American Queen Steamboat Company.
